Danielle Guglielmelli, dance instructor
Danielle is a native to the San Francisco Bay area. She began her dancing career as a 3 year old in the 1980s. She trained in Ballet and Tap under Marti Gibeau founder of Marti’s Dance in Los Altos, Ca. There she trained for the next 15 years. She trained in Lyrical and Jazz under Lynn Brilhante founder of Brilhante Dance in San Francisco,Ca. and Brea Paillet founder of The Dance Company of Los Gatos, Ca. In her early teens, she started assistant teaching Tiny Tots classes. She began training in Hip Hop under Lorraine Hynes. During this time, she began to compete in Lyrical and Hip Hop. She became a member of Future Shock San Jose. Future Shock was the youth division of Culture Shock San Francisco that was founded by Angie Bunch of San Diego, Ca.. It was a Nike sponsored Youth Outreach Program that offered free dance classes and encouraged a positive lifestyle through street style Hip Hop.
In College, she studied Art History and Psychology at Scuola Dante Alighieri in Florence, Italy. As well as, Expressive-based Movement Art Therapy at Tampa Institute founded by Anna and Daria Halpin in Marin County, Ca. She was set to attend Bristol College of Dance, UK to earn a Diploma in Dance Education, when she was in an accident. She required over a year of rehabilitation and physical therapy and did not pursue a professional dance career. She continued her career as a Dance Teacher in the community offering classes toddler to adults. In 2005, She started her own traveling dance company that offered dance classes to preschools and elementary schools for their enrichment programs. In 2011, she relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to Georgia. The past 17 years she has raised her 3 children. She has worked as a Preschool Teacher at her children’s schools over the years. Currently, she is a Preschool Music Teacher and a Substitute Teacher. This is her first season at CDA. She will be teaching the Saturday morning 3 year old Ballet, the Mini Jazz/Hippity Hop and 4 year old Ballet/Tap Combo classes.
