COVID UPDATE: Please click here to review our safety policies.
HOW IS CDA PROTECTING MY DANCER?
Dancer’s temperature will be taken upon entrance into the dance studio room by their instructor. They will also be sanitized at this time.
Every dancer must arrive with a signed waiver in hand at the first class. (If you turned a waiver in during teh summer, you must turn a new one in for the fall session of classes. Only one waiver is needed per dancer regardless of the amount of weekly classes; however, the waiver must be turned in on the first day to be allowed to participate in class. Download the waiver here.
Studio rooms will have squares taped off 6 feet for dancers to stand in. Each dancer will have their own box to dance in for social distancing. Click here for a photo example of our Six Feet Safe dance rooms.
Restrooms and studio rooms will be wiped down after each use. For those students coming in for just one class, please encourage them to use the restroom at home before coming to CDA.
Water fountains are closed. Please send a labeled water bottle with your dancer.
Masks are optional. (Please remember they are children. If you require your child to wear a mask, note that it will be the child’s responsibility to keep the mask on throughout the class. Doctors have recommended you not wear masks while exercising.)
When possible, all external doors will remain open at all times to allow fresh air inside.
CDA TAKES THE SAFETY OF OUR DANCERS TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
We have installed top of the line, germ fighting, iWave air purifiers in each of our 3 locations. These units have been proven to significantly reduce a wide variety of pathogens in the breathing zone and on hard non-porous surfaces. Click here to learn more about the iWave units we have invested in for our dancers safety.
Every AC unit we have, has an iWave purifier. Our commitment to providing a safe and clean atmosphere so that our dancers can continue to do what they love is steadfast.
WHO SHOULD NOT COME INTO THE DANCE STUDIO?
Any dancer feeling ill should stay home. (Fever, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, runny nose, or has been sick within the last 72 hours.)
Any dancer living with a family member who is ill or who has been sent home for quarantine due to exposure should stay home.
Anyone who has been ill, has been around anyone who is ill, or thinks they may be at high risk for being ill. Please stay home.
If someone in your household works in healthcare, they must NOT have been caring for COVID-19 patients for a period of four weeks prior to in-studio rehearsals.
Anyone who feels they cannot comply with all procedures should also stay home.
Children will be allowed to participate in class with a mask on. Mask are optional.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF I AM NOT READY TO SEND MY DANCER IN THE STUDIO?
Dancers have the option of taking virtual classes online.
We offer a schedule of virtual-only classes that is tailored directly to the at home student. You can find the schedule for the virtual-only classes by clicking here.
For dancers 2nd grade and up, we offer the opportunity to participate in the live, in-studio class virtually from home. Those classes that are held in the studio will also have the access of joining in from home as the class is live. Please specify on your registration or contact our office directly if you would like to participate virtually.
COVID PROTOCOL FOR SICK DANCER:
In the event we are notified that a dancer or instructor tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately notify anyone who has been exposed.
Exposed is defined by the CDC as being closer than 6 feet for 10 minutes or longer.
The exposed dancers/faculty will not be allowed to return to the studio until the 10 day symptom-free quarantine is over.
We will hold any classes with exposure virtually during the time of quarantine. There will be no missed class.
The person who tests positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to return to the studio for 14 days or a negative test. The identity of the infected person will be kept confidential.
The facility and exposed classroom will be deep cleaned and sanitized thoroughly.
Siblings of an infected dancer must also stay home for 14 days to quarantine.
NOTE: Entering a public area at any time assumes all risks and the reality is anywhere we chose to go in public (gas station, grocery store, school, etc) puts us at a risk of exposure. We, as a business, are doing everything we can to ensure that the facility itself stays sanitary and that the dancers who are attending classes are healthy. We will continue to take the proper precautions to protect everyone the best way we can.
DANCER DROP OFF & PICK UP:
CDA lobbies will be closed. Please do not arrive early. You will not be allowed to wait inside the studio lobby.
Dancers at CDA’s Main location ages 2yr - 5th grade - please click here for specific pick up instructions.
Your dancer needs to walk into the studio at the time their class is to begin. We can not allow congregating in the studio lobby between classes.
Parents may walk younger dancers into the studio room and then must return to their car. We kindly ask you to physically pull out of the parking lot so that others may pull in to drop off. We don’t have enough parking spaces for everyone to sit in their cars. We have your contact information and you have ours! We promise we will alert you the minute you are needed! Thank you for your consideration of others dropping off.
Your dancer must turn in a signed waiver before attending class. Dancers can hand waivers to the instructor during drop off. Click here to download the waiver.
“Pick Up”: Dancers will be released one by one from the teacher out of the classroom. Please be standing (socially distanced) from others to retrieve your dancer.
ADVANCED DANCERS DROP OFF & PICK UP:
Dancers will enter through the front entrance and go directly to their studio room. No congregating in the lobby.
Dancers must arrive on time and not early as they will not be allowed to gather in the lobby.
Dancers will spread their dance bags and belongings out along the studio walls—separating their items by a minimum of 3 feet.
Dancers who do not drive themselves will be dismissed in a separated line at the front door to wait for their ride.
Parents, please be on time and note which exit your dancer will be leaving. Class times may be adjusted for transitions.
Dancers who drive themselves: please maintain social distancing in the parking lot.
Sick Policy for Regular Dance Season:
Under no circumstances may a parent bring a sick child to dance class, if the child shows any signs of illness see (SYMPTOMS REQUIRING REMOVING OF CHILD FROM SCHOOL), or is unable to participate in the normal routine and regular day. Sick children will expose all children and staff members who they come in contact with. These people can in turn expose the other children. If other children become ill due to exposure to your sick child, either because he/she was returned to dance class before full recovery or because he/she was not picked up promptly upon notice of becoming ill, other parents will be unnecessarily inconvenienced. Because this is disruptive to other children and their families, your cooperation on this issue is extremely important.
In the event a child becomes ill and needs to be picked up, the parent(s) will be called and are expected to come pick the child up within one hour (60 minutes). If the parent(s) cannot be reached, or have not arrived within an hour, the emergency contact person will be called and asked to come pick the child up. In the event a child complains about not feeling well during the dance class, the parent will be contacted.
